Context

Pursuing its vision of Transforming Africa with Knowledge, AfroSkills organizes monthly webinars and fora on leadership and personal development. This webinar falls in that context, is part of a series that already staged, among others, discussions on conversational leadership, and the role of self-exploration in our personal transformation and the transformation of our society.

Objectives

  • To discuss internal factors that hinder Africa’s emancipation and development
  • To analyze scopes or areas in Africa that need a drastic change.
  • To ascertain the place of mindset in ensuring transformation of Africa in the 21st century.
  • To discuss why Africa warrants a new frame of mind to meet developmental or transformational goals amid changes in the global arena

Points to discuss

The following questions will guide the discussions:

  • What are the internal factors impeding total transformation of Africa in every aspect?
  • What are the perspectives of mindset and how do they correlate with people, country and continental transformation?
  • It’s an era of new dimension. How can Africa move away from the old mindset of complacency, pessimism, and dependency towards a new mindset of innovation, resilience, and self-reliance?
  • A change in mentality can create a paradigm shift in the way Africans perceive their continent's challenges and opportunities. How feasible is?
  • What advice can you give African people as individuals and governments as primary stakeholders for contributing to and driving practical transformation of Africa?
